SINGLE REVIEW: Robots and Gods – ‘More’

Canadian rockers, Robots and Gods have dropped a catchy as heck and rocking new track, More and as corny as it may sound, I for one am seriously keen for more! Their sound is clearly inspired by the 90’s Seattle grunge rock scene which is forever close to my grunge loving heart, but they also add a modern rock vibe to their music as well. The result is a sound that made me stop what I was doing and listen intently the day their new single landed in my inbox. More was released independently on April 3. The intro gives me a Stone Temple Pilots vibe from the first three notes. The vocals take me to another place, they are clean but delivered with grunt and further into the track I hear a Bush influence in there too. More is the kind of track that easily gets stuck in your head with an ‘easy to sing along to’ chorus and I find myself singing it at random times throughout the day. Being the first single released from their upcoming EP, I think it’s safe to say they are off to a flying start.

The band list some of their influences as: Faith No More, Peter Gabriel, U2 and Linkin Park and I can certainly hear those influences in there too. So if these bands are your jam, then you need to check out Robots and Gods.

More was recorded at Fader Mountain Sound (formerly Little Mountain Sound) and Monarch Studios. It was produced and mixed by Elisa Pangsaeang (Yukon Blonde, Said the Whale), with additional mixing by Karl Dicaire (Big Wreck, Devin Townsend Project) and mastered by Randy Merrill (Muse, Imagine Dragons). More is the first single released from their upcoming EP, set for release later this year.
