Rising pop singer/songwriter Josh King brings it home with another stand-out 2020 release CUTS. Following his vine of banger releases this year, Josh heals his wounds with a sound defining track that marks a new era of music for the 23-year-old. After the success of his debut single 116 reaching 10,000 streams, his upcoming release CUTS experiments with modernised soundscapes and waves of dream-pop synths, making this release one to remember.
Emerging in 2017, Josh marked his debut head-lining beloved Night Quarter during its peak and received a scholarship through his university to attend an incredible songwriting opportunity in Nashville and LA in the United States. Hailing from the Gold Coast, Josh’s style evolved from a passionate love for pop music, drawing influence from reigning icons John Mayer, Maggie Rogers and Taylor Swift.

Transcending from his releases this year, Josh’s emotional depth sinks in with mesmerising release CUTS. A track drenched in synths and a driving force of a beat, CUTS takes listeners on an intimate journey following the breakdown of a relationship. An artist with a sensitivity that reflects deeply in his music, Josh’s sound flourishes with this metaphorical and lyrically inspiring piece.

Written and co-produced by Josh himself and mixed by South East Queensland renowned producer Jared Adlam, the pair worked together to create a unique sound that reflected the new direction of Josh’s style whilst staying true to his singer/songwriter essence. Recorded and produced between Josh’s bedroom and Jared’s studio, the track holds sentimental value, being the first co-produced track released by the Queensland artist.
A performer wearing his heart on his sleeve, Josh King is an up and coming force, pioneering a new generation of pop in the industry. A track symbolic of Josh’s stylistic journey, the singer/songwriter has announced a stellar single launch at Brisbane’s Black Bear Lodge, Wednesday November 25 alongside pop gems Tiarne and Saint Barae.
