HEADWRECK Share Explosive New Single ‘Eulogy’ From Forthcoming ‘Glamorise Demise’ EP

Brisbane hardcore four-piece, Headwreck, are back to release their punchy new single Eulogy from forthcoming debut EP, ‘Glamorise Demise’, out Friday November 19.

Eulogy delves further into the electronic, synthy exploration that was established on both Freefall and Empty Space. Again taking production, mixing and mastering credits from in-house Headwreck guitarist and clean vocalist Jamo Benadie, the upcoming EP remains to be a personal release for the band.

Eulogy exclusively premiered via Maniacs yesterday where the band uncovered information on their influences and production processes. Read here.

Eulogy highlights a contrasting back and forth between light and shade vocally and revolves around the frustration and anger one might face when receiving troublesome information, specifically regarding health. Vocalist Connor Hickman struggles with anxiety-based disassociation and experienced a back and forth with his diagnosis.

‘Glamorise Demise’ is Headwreck moving into the musical direction that the band hinted at with February release, Freefall. Each track on the forthcoming EP ties into one another instrumentally and lyrically, exploring the reality of anxiety disorder.

The lyrics of the EP revolve around my experience dealing with an anxiety dissociative disorder known as Depersonalisation-Derealisation Disorder (DPDR). The lyrics of the EP tell the story of my initial symptoms, a false diagnosis and the aftermath of finally coming to terms with this, and having an answer for the reality-warping feelings I had, and still have to this day.

Previous singles Freefall and Empty Space received multiple play on triple j The Racket, have welcomed spins on day time triple j shows Breakfast and Lunch respectively, with Empty Space added to triple j Unearthed rotation last week. Empty Space dropped mid September and found a home on Spotify’s Homegrown and Heavy playlist as well as featuring online at New NoiseMusic FeedsWall Of Sound and more.

Headwreck is Connor Hickman (vocals), Jamo Benadie (guitar/vocals), Colby Horton (drums) and Callen Batson (bass). The band is a collaborative effort of four likeminded individuals striving to carve their own unique mark in the Australian alternative music community. Featuring two members of Brisbane alternative band, Days Like TheseHeadwreck occupy a heavier space and bring a fresh perspective to brooding metal music with emo pop appeal.

Eulogy, Empty Space and Freefall are available to stream everywhere now. ‘Glamorise Demise’ will be available Friday November 19.
