Melancholic yet utterly charming songstress Darcie Haven unveils her latest offering Pheromones, an indie-pop ode to nostalgia and heartache. Pouring vulnerability onto paper, WA-based Darcie’s storytelling is sincere, relatable and timeless, drawing you in from the very beginning.
Dancing with emotion, Pheromones is a therapeutic resolution after a heart-fracturing time.
“I wrote this track about a situation I had been trying to put words around for ages. It was a confusing, weird relationship that brought out emotions I could never make sense of, until this song quite literally poured out of me late one night. It came together faster than any other song I’ve written. Since that night, it’s been so special to me, and playing it has been the most cathartic experience. I’m beyond excited to share it, and hopefully give that same experience to people who have felt something similar.” – Darcie Haven
Joining creative forces with Aidan Hogg (G Flip, Hatchie, Eves Karydas), the track swells with gleaming synths and fuzz-driven guitar hooks, beating along to the heart of the song, her poignant songwriting.
Barely a year into her music career, Darcie Haven is already climbing the ranks of the Australian pop-realm. Compelling in her coming-of-age anthems, her first releases I Wanna Be and Coping caught the attention of industry heads, with a triple j Unearthed feature artist crown and multiple triple j spins. Darcie has appeared as a special guest for Dulcie and shared stages with Aussie favourites Ruby Fields, Teenage Joans and Hope D as well as sets at Sidefest and WA Day Festival.
Within a year of her debut single, she has been handpicked to support DMA’s for their Fremantle Arts Centre show and will be a special guest of Vance Joy in Margaret River, along with Noah Dillon, Budjerah and Mia Wray.
An emerging force with heart-wrenching and relatable lyrics, Darcie Haven is one to watch and is only just getting started.
