IVEY Reveals New Single ‘Paris’ + Announces Forthcoming EP

Following up an East Coast tour and run of festival performances, Gold Coast locals Ivey are back today with a brand new single Paris, out now via Mirror Records. To mark the release, the band have also announced their forthcoming EP ‘Bright, Famous, Dead’ – the follow-up from their highly successful debut EP ‘love + miscellanea’. ‘Bright, Famous, Dead’ will be released on Friday 11 November.

Written by Ivey‘s guitarist and vocalist Lachie, he explains “Paris is a love song, true to its core. Love is a constant in our lives, whether we’re with it or without it. The idea for the song came a long time ago when I was backpacking in Europe. Just weeks before I went overseas, I met a girl and we went on one single date. When I got overseas, I started missing her, and slowly as I was travelling around Paris, mostly high, living on bread because I was broke, I realised that I really liked this girl, perhaps even loved her. This song is that story, re-told by the band, in the way we do it best.”

Ivey returned in June with Pretty Boys, the first piece of new music from the band since their debut EP ‘love + miscellanea’ was released in 2020. Hot on the heels of Pretty Boys, the band released buoyant heartbreak single and video Back Home in August – an uplifting driving beat made for the dancefloor, with lyrics that ache to be moving on from a love that was.

Most recently, the Gold Coast locals have completed a run of tour dates down the East Coast as well as performances at Surface Festival, BIGSOUND, Springtime and Jungle Love Festivals.

Ivey is Millie, Lachie, Dante, Matt and Riley, a band of best friends from the Gold Coast. Off the back of successful singles through 2018-2020, Ivey found themselves supporting the likes of Cub Sport and Lime Cordiale and performing at Falls Festival, The Drop and Yalls Fest. The band continued in success with their debut ‘love + miscellanea’ EP release in October 2020, which saw over 7 million streams and sell out shows across Queensland during the peak of COVID in October of 2020. They also picked up high rotation on radio around the country and grabbed the attention of international press such as Clash and The Line of Best Fit.

They have completed multiple headline shows and supported the likes of Ruby Fields, Ocean Alley, Confidence Man, Eves Karydas as well as hosting an annual ‘End Of Year Party’ on the Gold Coast with on the rise acts supporting such as Sycco, Saint Lane, Peach Fur and more.
