Tia Gostelow is back, and she is back in a big way with anthemic punchy new single and video Say It To My Face, an ode to seeing the true colours of your friends unsuitable partner.
Tia says of the track: “Say It To My Face was written on my first trip to America in May this year. I was in Nashville when I wrote this with Lucas Arens. Lucas and I spent the first hour and a half talking, sharing stories and trying to get to know each other to see if we could find some common ground to write about. We ended up falling into the topic of seeing someone you love continuously being hurt by someone else and just wishing that person would go away. I guess this is a song for people who are frustrated that they can see who someone really is at their core, but nobody else seems to be seeing it yet.”
Last week, the Meanjin-based indie powerhouse announced a run of acoustic shows in WA in January, starting in Margaret River, she will then head to Bunbury before finishing up with a show at the iconic Mojo’s Bar in Fremantle.
Tia’s fearless approach to songwriting has seen her soar from strength to strength since arriving on the scene, earning acclaim from industry tastemakers across the country for her ability to craft epic pop constructs to sing ‘n’ dance to.
Tia’s 2018 certified GOLD debut album ‘Thick Skin’ sent folk-esque reverberations around Australia, earning her the Queensland Music Award for Album of the Year and a coveted Triple J Feature Album slot and includes certified PLATINUM single Strangers.
2020 heralded a new sonic direction for Tia as she uncovered the disco-pop prowess of sophomore album ‘CHRYSALIS‘ which hit #1 Album on the AIR charts.
Over the last two years, Tia spent time soaking up experiences: conversations with friends, words on paper, and of course, an endless stream of playlist choruses.
Tia has had more songs to choose from than ever before as she wraps up recording sessions with Producer Chris Collins (Middle Kids / Skeggs).
Album three is on its way in 2023.
