Tassie legends and all-round good humans, Luca Brasi, have dropped the brand new video for Sonny, taken from the band’ss upcoming sixth studio album, ‘The World Don’t Owe You Anything’ (out September 29th via Cooking Vinyl Australia) – and it’s a whole lot of cute landing right before Father’s Day.
Offering an intimate and inside look at the dual lives of band and family, the guys have shared some personal family footage alongside a peek behind the curtain of their life on the road.
“The Sonny video is a look at our lives between being in a band but also when we’re at home with our families. It can feel like you’re living two separate lives at times and it’s hard to work out where you fit in to it all. But when you arrive back home after a tour, exhausted and spent, those smiling faces greeting us at the front door make it all worthwhile and we are so thankful for the “double life” we are able to live. It’s not just us growing as a band but our families growing alongside us and we owe them everything. *but a sleep in wouldn’t go astray”.
– Danny Flood (Drums)
“Being in Brasi has tangled our lives up with our band lives in a way it’s hard to separate. We’ve known each other for 30+ years and have been doing this for a while as a band now too. Sonny as a video is a brief insight into our lives at home. Being in both a touring band and having lives at home is weird and sometimes you don’t know what mode you’re in, but it’s so sick seeing our families grow up as part of this. Brasi gave us a life we never imagined and it bloody rules.”
– Tyler Richardson (Frontman)
Downshifting in tempo, Sonny puts Luca Brasi’s remarkable sense of restraint and poise on full display. The song revels in its quiet assuredness. No string plucked out of place, no syllable wasted. Deftly rising and falling, Sonny does its best work in its sense of anticipation.
