Adelaide bubblegum-emo artist Killed By Cupid shares her latest audacious new single Boys Are Easy (But You’ll Never Find A Girl Like Me).

At its core, Boys Are Easy is a pop song with sharpened edges, produced mixed and mastered by Zeo. Documenting the end of a relationship, the track focuses on the insecurities that follow a break up and the torment of missing someone who hurt you.

Killed By Cupid‘s new tune injects a healthy dose of sass into vulnerable foundations, detailing the act of coping with the fallout by seeking physical validation from others. Despite its emotional backbone, the lyrical content is a bold and confident contrast to the bitter feelings of being dumped.

Killed By Cupid is the colourful and catchy solo project of musician Jesse Cumes, who pulls influence from a broad range of genres including pop, rock, emo, hyperpop and pop punk to create an amalgamation of sounds that define her. Jesse draws from personal experiences dealing with mental health, heartbreak and a continued desire for self betterment as a way to fuel her songwriting and document the roller coaster of emotions navigated in relationships and with the human experience.

For fans of Metro Station, 3OH!3 and Hellogoodbye, Killed By Cupid came to life in 2022 with the debut single Magic. The ‘Sickly Sweet’ EP followed shortly after, featuring Wolf & Chain‘s Jack Cumes, and found community radio play from Radio Adelaide, 4ZZZ, Southern FM and 5ZZZ and editorial success with media outlets Hysteria Mag, New Noise Mag, Scenectr Mag, HEAVY Mag and more.

Killed By Cupid wears her heart on her sleeve and calls it a fashion statement. Championing inclusivity and relatability, Jesse confidently melds sounds of the scene with tongue-in-cheek lyricism that’s earned accolades from leading outlets across Australia. Hysteria Magazine noted that Killed By Cupid “will send you right back to your scene days”Scenestr Magazine stated Jesse has “one checkered Vans sneaker in the pop-punk lane and a Dr Martens boot confidently stomping into hyper-pop territory” while HEAVY MAG described Killed By Cupid as a “colourful dose of angst-themed pop-punk”.
