Emerging singer-songwriter Bella Dyer, originally from Margaret River/Bunbury, Western Australia, is continuing to make waves in the Perth/Boorloo music scene with the release of her compelling new single, Overthink.
Written after navigating a long and challenging chapter of her life, Overthink marks a moment of transformation and self-discovery for Bella. “Finally stepping out of that space gave me a chance to reflect deeply on who I am and the person I want to become — someone free from the weight of my past identity,” she shared.
The track captures this journey of emotional release and self-realisation, blending introspective lyricism with dynamic instrumentation. Overthink is driven by a steady rhythm guitar line, powerful drums, and a syncopated bass groove, all underscored by captivating lead guitar and cello melodies. Layers of mandolin and 12-string guitar add depth and texture, creating a rich and immersive sonic landscape.
Brought to life with the help of Bella‘s band and Chris Benato (Lloyd and The Leftovers), who recorded, produced and mixed the song, Overthink is an eye-opening listening experience, offering a heartfelt reflection of Bella Dyer’s evolving artistry and resilience.
