Meet Zoe Dawn – a passionate and bold artist entering the Brisbane scene. After years of performing both with bands and as a solo act, the 18-year-old is stepping out with her emotive, anthemic, and unapologetic sound. Fuelled by her powerful vocals, she draws inspiration from the likes of Boom Crash Opera, TOTO and ICEHOUSE, as well as more modern folk acts such as Fleet Foxes.
Zoe today releases her debut single, Stay Around. On the single, Zoe says “Stay Around was born from a songwriting and recording camp I went on in late 2024. It was the first time one of my songs had been properly produced, and hearing it in this way made me truly realise the magic of making music. This track is about trying to make sense of a confusing relationship, and being so desperate to make it work that you contradict yourself at every turn.”
Zoe Dawn pairs the watery guitars and driving rhythms of 80s rock with the flowing melodies and moving atmosphere of indie folk. Her songs are grounded by her earnest lyricism and storytelling, making for an artist who tugs at your heartstrings while moving your feet.
