Enigmatic modern metal monsters Diamond Construct have announced they’ll release a deluxe version of ‘Angel Killer Zero’, out Friday March 21 via Greyscale Records & Pale Chord. Today, the band share new single and video for Deathparty, one of three new songs off the deluxe version.
Diamond Construct‘s sophomore album ‘Angel Killer Zero’ saw its release last April and featured lead singles Jynx, Switchblade OST and Hell Inside You, all of which reached the far corners of the alternative music community picking up consistent support from Rage, triple j, Crunchyroll, Spotify, Apple Music, worldwide editorial coverage and video reactors from across the globe.
Latest single and video Deathparty was written in 2022 and serves as a prequel to Switchblade OST. “In the studio, Braden showed me how he played the opening riff of ‘Deathparty’ and it completely blew me away,” says vocalist Kynan Groundwater. “He was playing the guitar with one hand and using the other hand to affect the signal with the pedals. That’s the kind of unique thing we look for in a DC song. After we decided that AKZ would get a deluxe instalment, ‘Deathparty’ was chosen to be the lead single for it.”
Rocketing to over a million streams and counting, ‘Angel Killer Zero’ was mixed and mastered by Lance Prenc (Polaris, Alpha Wolf) and stays true to the bands roots while still pushing forward into new sonic ground, experimenting with a full toolbox of glitchy guitars, energetic electronic and trap-inspired grooves and noisy sound design.
Nearing the album’s one-year anniversary, Diamond Construct reflect on their proud creation and feel more confident than ever in their brand and direction: “This has been nothing short of an incredible journey for us. We’ve learned so much about ourselves as musicians by completing another full length project. Along the way we’ve stuck to our guns, stayed true to ourselves musically and backed our creative decisions. Which in turn has given our fans what we think is the most honest and unique DC release to date.”
