After announcing one of the most ambitious tours of the year, Eora/Sydney-based punk rock quintet FANGZ have revealed the accompanying music video for Same Old Story – shot and directed by Rhys Bennett (DZ DeathraysTotally Unicorn).

Combining footage from headlining tours, Thrashville Festival, and traversing the country with the likes of Cancer Bats (CAN) and FIDLAR (USA), the montage showcases FANGZ doing what comes naturally to them; playing loud, sweaty and chaotic punk rock gigs.

Bassist Jameel Majam describes the motivation behind the clip: “Every band needs a tour video. This is ours and it’s the perfect song for it. The brief was simply to make a video that a kid can watch and makes them want to pick up a guitar and get in the van. In watching this video, I was reminded that I am in a band with my best friends and what a privilege that is. I needed this.”

To celebrate the release of Same Old Story, the group will set out to complete an East Coast tour of free entry shows in one day. On August 31, FANGZ perform at Cherry Bar in Naarm/Melbourne at 1am, followed by a hometown show at Bootleggers in Eora/Sydney at 1pm, and finishing off at Greaser in Meanjin/Brisbane at 10.30pm.

Since the release of Same Old Story, the track has received strong support from the likes of triple jApple MusicAmazon MusicSYN Media4ZZZThe MusicThe AU ReviewMusic FeedsHEAVY Mag and many more.

They also recently released a pair of tracks Wasting Time and Nothing To Lose, which were warmly embraced by Spotify, Apple Music, triple j, plus a slew of community radio and blogs.

Since their 2019 inception, FANGZ have released three EP’s ‘For Nothing’ (2019), ‘But No Thanks’ (2020), ‘Falling Is Pretty Normal’ (2022), and a slew of singles, which received strong support from the likes of triple j, triple j UnearthedTriple M, Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Metal Hammer (UK), Loudwire (USA), Classic Rock (UK), Metal Injection (USA), Louder Sound (UK), NMEPileratsThe GuardianMANIACS, and many more.
