It has been a long road for Hot Reno since forming in 2017. For Old Times Sake is a statement for the bands foreseeing successful future in the Australian rock scene. Drawing in sounds from their personal roots of hardcore and alternative rock, the band gives you the new ‘sing a-long’ sad rock tune you’ve been needing in your playlist.

For Old Times Sake is their most influential track yet with catchy hooks and melodic guitars. Hot Reno have mastered their song writing to be along side post-hardcore hero’s Title Fight and Basement. The lyrics explore themes of sadness, betrayal and the realisation of being alone is not too bad after all.

“If I could stand being away, I’d be on another planet just for old times sake…”

This is the first release of 2023 for Hot Reno with scheduled follow up track Crying In Your Sleep to hit the air waves in late June!

Hot Reno have just wrapped up playing shows with Australian touring bands OK Hotel and Private Function. As well as an Australian tour as main support for Semantics.

Hot Reno plan to be back in the studio to complete their 6 track EP in August. Then hit the road for a run of headline shows in October 2023.

The music video for the track shows the band playing in a vintage cinema foyer – located in New farm, Brisbane Australia. The video has mixed ‘VHS’ style footage throughout. Director, editor and frontman of Hot Reno, Harley Jones took an experimental approach to filming this by playing the music video through a TV and overlaying the footage throughout the video. This was inspired by the intro from classic 90’s TV hit ‘Malcom in the Middle’.

Video Filmed by James Latter | Directed and Edited by Harley Jones.
