Boorloo/Perth-based metal band Indigo Blaze have returned with their latest release Wanna Play? – produced and mixed by Matt Templeman (Make Them Suffer, Voyager, Sly Withers).
Wanna Play? erupts with an unstoppable energy surge as drums command an unwavering grip, piercing through layers of arpeggiated guitar melodies. The beat pulsates with relentless precision, cutting a powerful fusion of aggressive rhythms and melodic dexterity.
The band talk about the inspiration behind recording Wanna Play?: “Wanna Play? shows a more melodic side to our songwriting as we park the classic nu-metal riff style sound and create a more grooving rock song. Drawing inspiration after seeing Turnstile live and hearing how they use punk/hardcore-based music to create songs that are catchy and can make you want to dance, not just bang your head. Lyrically, the song is about dealing with writer’s block and scraping for inspiration not just in music but in the monotony of working life.”
In the live arena, the band have sold out multiple hometown headline shows and supported the likes of Gyroscope, Ocean Grove, The Southern River Band, Late 90s and SHANGRILA.
Previous release CRITICAL HIT saw support from international radio stations Oui FM (FRA), AntyRadio (POL), RTS Couleur (CHE), RTE 2XM (IRL) and IndieXL (NLD). They’ve also seen love from Spotify, Apple Music, Pilerats, MILKY, HEAVY Mag, Hardbeat (UK) and Illustrate Magazine (UK). Along with this, tracks have had radio support from triple j, Double J, triple j Unearthed, FBi Radio, RTR FM, 4ZZZ, Radio Adelaide and Aussie Music Weekly.
