NIMA award-winning rapper JK-47, a proud Bundjalung and South Sea Islander MC from Tweed Heads (Minyugmbal / Goodjinburra country), returns with his latest single, BLAKT OUT, following a first play on triple j Drive. This is the second release from his upcoming three-track EP ‘A ROAD LESS TRAVELLED’.  JK-47 is joined by his older brother Chiggz, a fellow member of the East Coast Brotherhood (ECB), who co-wrote the track with him.

BLAKT OUT is a celebration of good vibes and brotherhood. The track paints a vivid picture of cruising in JK’s first car, a ‘blakt out’ Holden, with music cranked up and the crew in the back. The track is not just about the joy of cruising but also reflects the close bond between JK-47 and Chiggz. Their connection comes through in the song’s energy and lyrics, reflecting the essence of feeling good and looking good with the mob by your side.

Speaking on the collaboration, JK-47 shared: “This song is about those moments when you feel on top of the world, riding around with the music blasting, your people in the back, and everything just feels right. Having my older brother Chiggz on the track makes it even more special—this one’s for the family.”

BLAKT OUT is the second instalment in JK-47’s new EP ‘A ROAD LESS TRAVELLED’, a personal and reflective body of work that follows his critically acclaimed album, ‘ReVision for ReGrowth’. His last project earned extensive praise from key outlets like RAGEAcclaim MagazinePurple Sneakers, and secured significant editorial playlisting on Spotify and Apple Music. His growth and evolution continue to captivate fans and critics alike, recently scoring an ARIA nomination for his Sun-Safety anthem.

Born Jacob PaulsonJK-47’s journey into Hip-Hop began at the age of 14. Drawing inspiration from legends like TupacNipsey Hussle, and DMX, he quickly developed a passion for storytelling through music. Over the years, his talent has been recognised by triple j, where he was named Unearthed Artist of the Year (2020), and his album was featured as Album of the Week.

JK-47’s impressive performance history includes shows at iconic venues and festivals such as the Sydney Opera HouseSplendour in the GrassBluesfestGroovin’ The MooField DayLaneway, and Wildlands. His previous releases have also received extensive airplay on stations like Double JFBiRRR4ZZZRTR, and 2SER.

Having Chiggz on this track adds another layer of depth to BLAKT OUT. As a key member of ECBChiggz has been an integral part of JK-47’s musical journey from the very beginning, and their creative synergy is undeniable. BLAKT OUT not only showcases their bond as brothers but also highlights their collective talents as lyricists and performers.
