Scenes is the solo project of songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Graham Ritchie. A prolific studio and touring musician, Ritchie has collaborated with Holy Holy, Thelma Plum, Gretta Ray, Japanese Wallpaper, Jarryd James, Big Scary and Emma Louise.
Scenes’ debut EP ‘ID’ was released in 2021 with singles Henhouse feat. Ainslie Wills and Morse feat. Jesse Davidson. The EP also featured artists including Montgomery and Street Rat. The tracks received high praise from triple j and outlets including Purple Sneakers with additions to Spotify and Apple editorial playlists, and triple j Unearthed radio playlisting.
Scenes is now releasing new single For The Young, which features long-term collaborator Airling. Ritchie co-produced Airling’s previous releases including LP ‘Hard To Sleep, Easy To Dream’. For The Young opens with a pulsating Bass line followed by a mix of swirling Guitar arpeggios and Synths. Airling’s hypnotic vocals soar throughout the choruses before fragmenting with delay effects, melding into the accompaniment. Themes of authenticity, transience and societal responsibilities ring out across this new collab!
