Boorloo/Perth-based indie-rock band Sophian have just announced their exciting debut EP and enchanting first single off the record, Million Miles featuring King Ibis frontwoman Nadene Burchell – produced by Dave Parkin at Blackbird Studios (Spacey JaneSly WithersOld Mervs).

Million Miles crafts a radiant atmosphere with luminous synths, ethereal harmonies and resonant vocals from frontman Sophian Manik. As Nadene enters, both vocalists harmoniously blend with the vibrant rhythm section, steering towards a euphoric ambience that conjures both nostalgia and serenity.

Sophian talk about the inspiration behind Million Miles: “Million Miles delves into the universal struggle of feeling inadequate despite relentless effort. Through an introspective dialogue with co-writer Nadene, the song explores the realization that self-worth isn’t determined by others expectations. It’s a heartfelt acknowledgment that doing your best is enough, even if it feels like you’re a million miles from perfection.”

In the live arena, the band have previously shared the stage with acts such as COTERIEBootleg RascalDanté KnowsChandler JewelsSouth SummitDICEMitch Santiago and King Ibis. They have also sold out their last three hometown shows and embarked on a national tour across Australia.

Previous singles have seen support from triple jtriple j Unearthed, 2SER, PBS FM, SYN Media, 4ZZZ, RTR FM and Gove FM. They have also seen support in the blogsphere from the likes of Atwood Magazine (USA), Backseat Mafia (UK), PileratsMusic FeedsMILKYAustralian Music Scene and AAA Backstage. Recently their single Beautiful Day won the WAM Award for ‘Song of the Year’ in their Pop Category.
