Square Tugs return with the sixth single from their recently released debut album
‘Monster Hits’. Apple Of Your Eye is an emotionally charged song which explores how our life experiences shape who we are and the importance of familial unconditional love.

The song starts with a beautiful piano piece played by Randy Tug’s daughter Georgia before launching into a breakneck Stoogies-esque riff and driving drums and bass. Clocking in at 3 minutes and 12 seconds, it’s the longest ‘Tugs song to date and features four distinct parts resolving in a soaring chorus.

Working with producer Jason Millhouse at Recordworks Studio in Brisbane, the track was recorded extremely quickly with the band recording live in the studio to get the drum track down. The bass and guitar tracks were then overdubbed, and Davey’s emotional vocal recorded in one take.

The band wanted a video that matches the emotional intensity of the song and again teamed up with Jason Millhouse to produce the accompanying visually dynamic clip.
