After over two decades at the forefront of metal and hardcore, inspiring a generation of fans and artists alike, New Yorkย metallic hardcore heroesย Strayย From The Pathย have announced their final ever Australian tour this August. The news follows the bandโs surprise drop of their latest and last album ‘Clockworked’ via SharpTone Records,ย revealed as their swansong to a legacy that will not be forgotten. Joining them on their last lap of the country will be first-time-visitorsย Orthodoxย (USA), and local modern-metallersย Diamond Construct.
The farewell tour will celebrate the bandโs reign as monsters of metal since 2001 andย will begin atย The Tivoliย in Brisbane on Friday 15th August and will travel throughย Manning Barย in Sydney,ย King Street Bandroomย in Newcastle,ย 170 Russellย in Melbourne,ย Lion Arts Factoryย in Adelaide and will conclude atย Magnet Houseย in Perth on Friday 22nd August (Diamond Construct not appearing in Perth).
Over their twoย decades,ย Strayย From The Path have achieved a kind of longevity rarely seen in hardcore. With each successive release and countless shows and tours across the globe, membersย Tom Williamsย (guitar),ย Drew Dijorioย (vocals),ย Anthony Altamuraย (bass) andย Craig Reynoldsย (drums) have evolved the band intoย a behemoth of groove-laden, metallic hardcore riffing and hip hop-influenced vocal cadences. Acrossย the years, the band embracedย their position as an opportunity to plant seeds for change in an increasingly dark socio-political climate, and playing to ever-growing crowds of young music fans is a responsibility they’ve never takenย lightly.ย Their discography and live show speak volumes, and withย ‘Clockworked’ย they leave on a high –ย furious, vital, and true to themselves.
Joining the tour as main support is Nashville/Columbus-based quintet Orthodox. Similar to peers like Knocked Loose, Harms Way and Jesus Piece, the band mutate metalโs most groovy elements into a molten alloy as scalding as it is dense. From the floor to a massive stage, from hardcore to metal, and everything in between, Orthodox have built a name on fervent, visceral live shows. With their most blunt album both lyrically and musically, the wrecking ball thatย isย ‘A Door Left Open’,ย shatters expectations and minds of fans of metal and hardcore alike. Their powerful alloy ensures it doesnโt matter if there was…ย A Door Left Open or not, with their latest album, theyโve kicked theirs off its hinges – if not turned it into dust.
Opening all shows bar Perth is Diamond Construct. From their humble beginnings in Taree (NSW),ย Diamond Construct have cemented their foundations with commitment to dreams of something greater. Many laps of Australia alongside such heavy-hitters as Greyscale labelmatesย Justice For The Damned, Alpha Wolf andย Promptsย (JPN),ย
This is your last chance to catchย Strayย From The Path in a city near you – so don’t miss out!
