Fresh off an electric performance at Nice Day To Go To The Club Festival alongside Ruby Fields and These New South Whales, plus a sold out support with Selfish Sons, Kaurna / Adelaide quartet Sunsick Daisy today reveal another dreamy layer of their upcoming sophomore EP with uplifting new single, It’ll Be Alright.
An ode to true friends who always have your back, It’ll Be Alright is a reverb soaked pick-me-up, lifting listeners from their lowest moments with a radiant burst of positivity. Wrapped in the band’s signature hazy wall of sound, the track acts as a warm, comforting hug from a friend you haven’t seen in forever – arriving just when you need it the most.
“It’ll Be Alright is about those people in your life who make you feel safe and secure in your lowest moments of self-doubt,” explains vocalist Sarah. “It’s one of our most uplifting tracks yet, with a reassuring message that no matter what life throws at you, it’ll be alright.”
Recorded with producer Jarred Nettle (Teenage Joans, TOWNS), It’ll Be Alright sees Sunsick Daisy lean into a more indie-pop-driven sound, layering glistening guitars over a simple, sing-along mantra of a chorus. Showcasing their songwriting versatility, the track is a dynamic offering from a band who have proven themselves to be shoegaze aficionados on past releases like Hideaway and Over & Over.
To celebrate the release, Sunsick Daisy will head out on their biggest national tour to date with headline slots in Melbourne, Sydney and Newcastle and a festival slot at Canberra’s Funland Festival alongside Tired Lion, Verge Collection and plenty more.
Already receiving local and global recognition from the likes of KEXP and triple J for their debut EP, ‘Breathe In… Breathe Out’ – along with over 600,000 streams – Sunsick Daisy are fast cementing their place as one of the country’s most exciting young bands.
