Out today, the track marks another confident step in a breakout year for the emerging songwriter and performer.
Following the success of Heart Attack and Hold On (Psycho), ALBII trades dark pop drama for an upbeat, playful anthem that’s destined for your next party playlist. I Got A Crush is a cheeky, high?energy track about falling head over heels… ‘for a girl in a movie’. It’s the soundtrack to your most delulu daydreams, complete with flirty lyrics, a sticky?sweet hook, and just the right touch of emotional chaos. Equal parts ridiculous and relatable, it’s for anyone who’s ever mapped out a fake relationship with someone who doesn’t even exist. No judgement… we’ve all been there.
With influences from Olivia Rodrigo, BENEE, Billie Eilish, and Hemlocke Springs, ALBII blends together shimmering pop melodies with her signature wit and personality. The single arrives alongside a vibrant, playful music video that offers a glimpse into the quirky charm fans have come to love during her energetic live shows supporting Parker to her recent interview with Charlie In The Rain, where she was dubbed “Our Aussie Billie Eilish”.
“I’ve never been that person who crushes on celebs… but one random movie totally got me,” ALBII says, “It made me realise how universal that kind of obsession is. Like, we’ve all lost the plot at some point over someone who doesn’t even exist. It’s totally ridiculous, but honestly? Kinda Fun.”
Beyond the music, ALBII is here to use her platform to advocate for visibility in accessibility. Drawing from her personal experiences, she is working to ensure her performances are as inclusive as possible, aiming to make live music a space where everyone can belong and be a part of the fun.
