Today, Brisbane based indie-rock trio Bean Magazine have unveiled their brand new EP ‘In The Shade’ via Purple Phase / Warner Music Australia. This sun-soaked collection of seven tracks was produced by Sam Cromack from Ball Park Music, and features recent singles Old Or Young, Chicken, 3, Nobody Wore Shoes, and FIRE, as well as two new songs Don’t You Die and The Weather.
Henry Creamer (guitars and vocals), Gabrielle Beiers (drums) and Seb Baren (bass) effortlessly blend punk energy, sensitive lyrical sensibilities and classic rock riffs within this EP to create songs that will never leave your head, and you’re immediately going to be obsessed.
“We’ve been sitting on this body of work for ‘In The Shade’ for a while now and are so excited for it to see the light of day. When we brought these songs to our producer, Sam over a year ago he immediately expressed similar levels of excitement. Old or Young particularly feels nostalgic to us and delivers an immense feeling of home. The EP as a whole encompasses everything we have been as a band since the beginning and we want everyone to love it just as much as we do” Seb explains.
On Friday, Bean Magazine will be kicking off a national tour supporting The Rubens which will see them winning crowds over this September and October in Tasmania, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, Adelaide, and Perth. Last month, they joined Rum Jungle on the regional QLD tour, and showcased at BIGSOUND in Brisbane to rave reviews.
Bean Magazine have already noted themselves as an impressive live band, with Good Call Live noting “Henry Creamer hits the mic with the gusto of an enraged grunge idol from the 90’s, spraying an energy straight from the get go … the crowd has some new faces, all of which are in awe of what just occurred”. Cutting their teeth in the vibrant Brisbane music scene, they’ve headlined iconic venues like The Brightside, Felons Barrel Hall and The Outpost to sold out crowds, and opened for bands like Ball Park Music.
