Brisbane’s newest emo rock group In Constance are back with their second single Hiding, showcasing their command of dynamics. Effortlessly flowing between soft soundscapes and soaring crescendos, Hiding explores the journey through stages of grief and how withdrawing into yourself and shrinking the space you take up can sometimes be just as damaging as the pain you’re hiding from.
Self produced by guitarist Jordan Bain with the help of many collaborators, the track is a sonic amalgamation of many self-reflections on grief and healing. Showing off the group’s instrumental post-rock influence, the melancholy mood and anthemic ending to Hiding encourages listeners to grapple with their own grieving process, whilst knowing that they have nothing to be afraid of.
Following the successful release of the debut track Fairytale which saw radio play across Australia’s East Coast, In Constance are quickly making a name for themselves with their unique sound.
