As just one of just five Australians invited to perform at Nashville’s prestigious CMA FestChloe Styler is a young star set to skyrocket. Today she releases her dreamy new single Hometownlessa taste of the multi-instrumentalist’s forthcoming EP, ‘Side B’, due for release on August 4.

Styler built upon the saying, “home is where the heart is” when penning the new single. “Hometownless captures the feeling of going through a breakup and realising you’re left searching for a new place to call home once more. I co-wrote this song with my long-time friend and collaborator, Jason Resch (Darlinghurst) and we decided to liken a person to a hometown in a relationship.”

With producer, Andy Mak (The McClymontsCaitlyn Shadbolt), at the helm, the track also features an impressive list of session musicians. Mak himself takes bass and keys duty, Harry Day (Middle Kids) shines on drums and Sam Telford (Vera Blue) can be heard on guitars.

Styler teamed up with sought-after videographer, Jazmyn Smith, to shoot a clip for the single, however, mother nature had other plans. “We had planned for a day of filming with blue skies and luscious Gympie fields, however, a storm rolled in during the afternoon, forcing us inside and to rely on our backup plan.” Yet, the team still managed to bring Styler’s vision for a dreamy music video to life. “So, think soft pastels, flowers (both in my hands and my hair!), and gorgeous landscapes. I’m so proud of the team and what we created!”

Styler is no stranger to the stage, having performed at many massive Australian festivals – Byron Bay’s Falls FestivalGympie Music MusterBig Red Bash, and Deni Ute Muster to name a few. But her most recent appearance at CMA Fest was one to remember.

“I played the same stage as James Johnston and American artists such as Laci Kaye Booth. While in Nashville, I was invited to visit the Apple Music office and play a few songs, I performed at the Sounds Australia ‘A Taste of Australia’ event, participated in 4 co-writes with incredible songwriters including fellow Australian Phil Barton, saw shows at The Bluebird Café and fully immersed myself in Music City while doing all the ‘touristy’ things I could think of! I can’t wait to go back!”

Not only are fans packing the stands to see the young star, but she’s also earned a slew of accolades. Semi-finalist in the International Songwriting Competition, Finalist in the Vanda & Young Global Songwriting Competition, 2x Gold Coast Music Award Finalist, and Queensland Music Award Finalist.

Clad with ethereal synth sounds and Styler’s angelic vocal, the track blends retro and modern sounds into something that feels classic. It may be Hometownless, but Styler’s mesmerising voice sounds right at home in this dreamy blend of Indie Pop and Country.

The QLD native will launch the new single and upcoming EP at Brisbane hideaway, It’s Still A Secret on August 10.
