Over the past decade, Magandjin/Brisbane’s CONCRETE SURFERS have toured the country countless times, supported some of the biggest artists in the world, played major festivals and have consistently refined their repertoire into a sound that has become unmistakably their own.
Today, the band release their first ever full-length record, an album that has been over two years in the making.
Behind the scenes, CONCRETE SURFERS have been meticulously writing and producing what is a landmark project for the group.
The album is a culmination of everything that makes CONCRETE SURFERS so loved around the world. It’s full of punchy lyrics, driving guitars and the bands’ signature sound of raw garage punk rock.
“This album represents the most honest version of our band so far. Everything that we have done in the last 10 years
as a band has led us to this point, and I don’t think any of us could be prouder of the songs that got us here.”
Recorded with Colby Robertson (triple j) in 2025, the band left the city to spend time away at Airlock Studios and on a farm at Swanpond Studios creating what became their debut LP. Isolation from the city forged ideas that became some of the bands’ most refined pieces of work to date.
“This is the music that we want to listen to as well as play on stages and that translates through the no nonsense
recording/writing process too. Every song was recorded how it was played in the room together to really make sure
that the songs were going to hit the same way on the stage as they do on speakers. These songs are about the human experience and therefore are for everybody.”
CONCRETE SURFERS are notably one of Australia’s hardest working acts around, having been one of the only bands in the country that managed to tour throughout COVID Lockdowns finding loopholes in laws and earning themselves Triple J J-Award nominations for their creativeness.
After supporting artists like Royal Blood, Spacey Jane, Dune Rats, WAVVES (to name a few), and counting up over 4 million Spotify streams, the band is no stranger to releasing and playing their music which has been widely received over the past decade.
The release of their debut album comes with a national tour throughout August, hitting Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Wollongong, Newcastle, Byron Bay & Brisbane.
