The self-titled debut EP from Damien J. Johnson is a carefully curated introduction to an artist shaped by story, place, and tradition. Like a tasting platter of his musical influences, Damien J. Johnson moves fluidly through country, blues, folk, and both traditional and contemporary country sounds across five heartfelt tracks.
Anchored by honest songwriting and lived experience, the EP features four previously released singles โ Nobody Else But You, One Hill Town, This House, and Away From You โ alongside the previously unreleased My World Seems To Grow,ย a reflective closer that encapsulates the emotional core of the record.
All songs were written by Damien J. Johnson, who also performs the majority of instruments and all vocal layers throughout the EP. Additional instrumentation comes from Ken Newman on bass and Sheridan Dunbar on cello, adding depth and texture to the project. The EP was produced by Luis Mateer, with mixing and mastering handled by Matthew Gray Mastering, resulting in a warm, organic sound that honours Damienโs roots while sounding unmistakably contemporary.
