“I’d been trying to write a song like ‘A Good Man’ for a long time. The idea of feverishly and desperately wanting to change someone had followed me around from relationship to relationship. Whether that be to make them fit a specific mold I’d created for them in my head, or simply into what I’d consider to be a better person, has always plagued and intrigued me. ‘A Good Man’ is about a relationship where you’re tirelessly trying to squeeze more love and life out of someone than they are capable of, and not knowing when to let go.”
Raised on a farm far outside of Perth, Darcie learned to sing from Missy Higgins CDs and Taylor Swift songbooks, eventually finding her voice in deeply personal, emotionally raw songwriting.
