Georgie Winchester, hailing from Wonnarua country in the small town of Maitland NSW, is known for her catchy songwriting, demanding vocals and guitars and a knack for storytelling. Latest single, The Signs, produced by Jack Nigro (Skegss, Dune Rats, The Terrys) at Sonara Studios, Central Coast, is no exception.
The track feels like a happy surf road trip, bouncing along with Georgie’s new found love for electric guitars and phaser effects combined with her semi-occa lyricism and second look soaring vocals. From a post-breakup lens, The Signs is about Georgie’s hindsight regret about not properly reading or acting upon red flags that cropped up in her past relationship, especially at it’s early stages.
Recently, Georgie Winchester has shared line-ups with renowned Australian acts such as G-Flip, Glass Animals, Troye Sivan, The Smith Street Band, Maple Glider, The Rubens & Thelma Plum. She looks forward to taking the stage to promote her new single at Spilt Milk Newcastle, on a three date tour of Victoria, at Pacific Palms Recreational Club
supporting Pete Murray, and in early 2025, at the Tamworth Festival and International Alliance Canada.
The Signs will be Georgie’s 8th single release for 2024 following her EP pretty things, and two separate collaboration singles with Just A Gent and another with Joel Leggett all celebrated with 60+ shows around Australia.
