Georgie Winchester, independent artist hailing from Wonnurua country in the small town of Maitland NSW, delivers a nostalgic return to her songwriting roots with a dreamy, road-worn alternative soft-rock track that channels life on the road through vivid storytelling and open-ended lyricism. Recorded at Dashville’s iconic bush studio in NSW and supported by Dashville Community Records, Georgie teamed up with acclaimed producers Jack Nigro (Dune Rats, Skegss, DMA’S) and Christopher Dale (Melody Pool) to craft this simple and intimate track.
Anchored by a slightly out-of-tune ethereal electric guitar and Georgie’s unfiltered vocal performance, Dust & Salt is a deeply reflective piece that builds throughout the song to explore Georgie’s intense journey of leaving Newcastle to rebuild after leaving a violent relationship – setting the tone for her forthcoming sophomore album of the same name. Think Angie McMahon X Ruby Fields. Dust & Salt is the second of four singles ahead of a November album, supported by a 16-date European tour.
Recently, Georgie Winchester has shared line-ups with renowned Australian acts such as G-Flip, Troye Sivan & Glass Animals at Spilt Milk Festival. Her first single off the album received praise from local and international publications such as Australian Independent Records, Ear To The Ground & She Makes Music (UK) as well as community radio play. She looks forward to taking the stage to promote her new album on tour in Europe spanning across Italy, Hungary, Greece, Germany, Switzerland and the UK beginning May 2026.
