Australian pop singer songwriter Gia Darcy is has released her nostalgic, 80s inspired final single White Noise, alongside an official music video that completes her three track visual mini EP.
Written alongside long-time collaborators Ross Newhouse and Liam Quinn (Rita Ora, Keith Urban), the track pairs shimmering synths, infectious pop hooks and a nostalgic, feel good energy with Gia’s signature emotionally honest songwriting.
“White Noise is a love song to that one person who makes the world feel a little less overwhelming. Whether it’s a friend, a partner, or someone you trust, it’s about having that person by your side when social anxiety starts to creep in.” Gia explains.
“It’s for anyone who’s ever felt trapped in their own head, especially in those moments where it feels like everyone is watching. Sometimes all it takes is one person to quiet the overthinking, cut through the noise, and make you forget about all of it. That’s what this song is about.”
Lyrically, White Noise explores the rituals of anxiety, biting your nails, wondering if you’re talking too much or if everyone can tell how nervous you are, before finding relief in the presence of someone who makes the world feel quieter. The result is a bright, pop song about something that can feel anything but.
The release is accompanied by Gia’s most ambitious music video to date, directed by Renata Dominik and shot by Alexander Leeway. Set in a stylised 1980s world, the visual brings White Noise to life through bold styling, surreal characters and multiple versions of Gia.
“We wanted the video to feel like stepping inside the different versions of yourself that you perform for the world,” says Gia. “There’s something really fun about taking the anxious thoughts in the song and turning them into this colourful, exaggerated world.”
The release arrives following a huge run of milestones for Gia Darcy. With more than 2.4 million Spotify streams, 2.7 million YouTube Shorts views and a growing audience of more than 25.8K TikTok followers, Gia has built a reputation for emotionally honest pop that connects with listeners both online and on the live stage.
Her music has received support from triple j, including a coveted Song of the Week for Nice Things, as well as praise from Rolling Stone AU/NZ and multiple editorial playlists. Nice Things also placed second in the Unsigned Only Music Competition, further cementing Gia’s place among Australia’s emerging independent pop artists. Gia has also performed on Sunrise, completed an East Coast tour and has also worked with brands including Converse, Tasman Guitars and Rimmel London.
This year she has toured with Charley, and featured in a social media campaign alongside Ed Sheeran and Orange Amps. She just performed at BIGSOUND 2026, taking on the ALMBC BIGSOUND Stage in Brisbane.
As the final piece of her visual mini EP, White Noise is a fun, nostalgic and deeply relatable closer, a song for anyone who’s ever felt overwhelmed by the noise in their own head, and the person who makes it all fade into the background.
