Melbourne metal outfit HEAVENSGATE share new single RATKING and prepare to launch it live across the East Coast this weekend, and will join The Amity Affliction on a national tour this November. RATKING is out now via Greyscale Records in partnership with 1126 Records.
Off the back of last year’s single VIOLENT JOY, HEAVENSGATE return to deliver the sonic onslaught that is RATKING. The single has already been coined the band’s most crushing track yet, written by the band, produced with Erik Bickerstaffe of Loathe and Cullen Forbes of Fallweather, with a mix and master by Lance Prenc (Polaris, Alpha Wolf).
RATKING is described by the band as “a personal love letter”, as they encourage listeners to find their own journey with it. The track delivers blow after violent blow in its tidy three minute runtime, keeping listeners on their toes with constant shifts in tempo, refusing to let up in energy and intensity.
The single will be launched across the East Coast this weekend on a headline run supported by Diesect and Darkmatter. The tour will hit Adelaide on June 6, Melbourne on June 7, Sydney on June 8 and Brisbane on June 9. Tickets on sale via Greyscale Records. In November, HEAVENSGATE will embark on their biggest national tour to date, supporting The Amity Affliction with Ice Nine Kills (US) and We Came As Romans (US). The band were hand-picked by Amity vocalist Joel Birch, who said: “I picked this band for the Aus tour because… well, go listen”.

HEAVENSGATE played their first-ever show, which doubled up as their first-ever headline set, last July which completely sold out. Since then, the quintet have toured Australia with The Gloom In The Corner and PROMPTS (JPN) and played shows with While She Sleeps (UK), Currents (US), Invent Animate (US) and August Burns Red (US).
