Sydney-based artist Grace Turbo crafts music at the crossroads of alt-pop and indie, drawing comparisons to Aldous Harding and Cate Le Bon. With her distinctive vocals and an instinct for the in-between, her songs explore spaces where relationships transform, memories blur, and identities shift.

Grace‘s latest single, Linear, is a dark, pulsing synth-pop track that questions the idea that life, love and growth move in a straight line. Built around low, tense synth bass and exposed vocals, the song opens in a world of light and spectacle – “Got caught up in the light / The costuming excites”– hinting at performance, ego and the roles we play in relationships.

As the track unfolds, it shifts from observation to rupture. Lines like “There’s no such thing as one more day” and “Now I don’t know you / Or if you told the truth” trace the disorientation that comes when a relationship fractures suddenly, and the past no longer feels reliable. The repeated chorus  “All this is linear” becomes less a statement and more a question, pushing back against the idea that time heals neatly or that endings follow logic. Sonically, Linear balances dreamy, high vocals with restless electronics, gradually stripping back into something intimate and unresolved.

This track is the second single from Grace Turbo’s forthcoming album ‘Yes, And’ –  a body of work that explores time, identity and the quiet violence of believing we are always moving forward.
