Indie pop-rock artist and songwriter Ixaras returns with CASUALLY, a heartfelt exploration of the messy contradictions at the core of modern love. Known for pairing sharp lyricism with emotionally charged melodies, ixaras has quickly established herself as one of the country’s most compelling new voices, and CASUALLY sees her stepping further into the spotlight with unflinching honesty.
“When you go on tour you spend a lot of time away from home. I wrote the song as a reassurance to my family, friends and loved ones how much I care despite not being able to always be there. My song “Casually is an anthem about the obstacles that come with relationships and how no matter what, loving unconditionally is a choice that I will always actively participate in no matter what stands in the way” ixaras shares.
Born in Meanjin/Brisbane, ixaras’ music reflects the intensity and volatility of youth while carving out space for connection, expression and inclusivity. Through her DIY record label and event platform Anti-Dismal, she has redefined what accessibility in live music looks like, throwing all-ages gigs in backyards, skateparks, community halls and houses and building a grassroots community around her music.
With each release, ixaras has proven herself a rising force. Her songs have earned multiple triple j first plays, a full triple j add for This City, and consistent national and international radio support across triple j Unearthed, Double J, Radio Adelaide, 4ZZZ, Joy FM and Sirius FM USA. Media have rallied behind her story, with features across ABC’s docuseries with Myf Warhurst, triple j, Junkee, Happy Mag, The Music, Women in Pop, Purple Sneakers, The Aus Music Scene, Good Call Live and more. Her debut national headline tour in June 2025 sold out across every city, following festival slots at NYE On The Hill, Great Escape Tasmania and Sweet Relief, with forthcoming appearances at Spilt Milk and as a national support act for The Rions’ October 2025 tour. She has also shared stages with Esha Tewari and Aleksiah.

Momentum shows no signs of slowing. ixaras will join The Rions’ national tour this October, perform at the Australian Women In Music Awards on 8 October, and take the stage at Spilt Milk Gold Coast on 14 December.
