Western Australian indie-folk rock outfit Littlefair are set to make their biggest statement yet with the release of a debut EP, ‘Forever Is A Long Time’ – out today. Blending shimmering harmonies, evocative storytelling, and dynamic instrumentation, the five-piece continues their ascent as one of WA’s most exciting emerging acts.
Following the success of singles Happy and Jacket (which recently entered the AMRAP metro charts), Littlefair now turn the spotlight to their lead single, Prescription, an emotionally charged track that lays bare the complexities of witnessing someone trapped in a toxic relationship. Written in a moment of helpless observation, Jessica Depiazzi (lead vocals, guitar) channels raw emotion through powerful yet restrained vocals, accompanied by meticulous harmonies that form the song’s core.
“It’s about reaching out to that person and asking them what they need, but knowing that until they acknowledge they need a change, there’s not much you can do except remind them that you’re there,” Jessica shares. “It’s pretty cathartic to sing, especially in the repeating line ‘do you need a new prescription/ maybe a new religion/ someone else to believe in’ and I hope it brings that feeling to listeners.”
Recorded, mixed, and mastered by Lee Buddle at Crank Recording Studios, ‘Forever Is A Long Time’ showcases Littlefair’s signature fusion of indie-rock, folk, and blues influences. Drawing comparisons to Fleetwood Mac, The Beths, and The Cranberries, the EP is a testament to the band’s ability to craft both soaring anthems and intimate, heartfelt compositions. “We had such a great time recording the EP,” shares the band, “and that’s what we want people to feel listening to it as a whole- that sense of fun and comradery. At the end of the day, we really just love playing music together.”
Fresh from their 2025 Nannup Music Festival set and a string of high-profile performances—including Beats in the Bay Festival (supporting Sly Withers) and WAMFest’s Scarborough Beach Party—Littlefair are poised to make waves with their debut release. Their accolades already include winning Emerging Artist of the Year at the 2024 Nannup Music Festival and being named a Top 20 finalist in the 2024 WAM Song of the Year Awards (Folk & Rock categories).
With a warm yet electrifying live presence, the band—comprising Jessica Depiazzi (lead vocals, guitar), Gareth Peach (drums), Jaik Rushan (bass, guitar, vocals), Kira Depiazzi (violin, percussion, vocals), and Mary Depiazzi (keys, guitar, vocals)—delivers an unforgettable energy both on and off the stage.
‘Forever Is A Long Time’ invites listeners into the world of Littlefair: a space where intricate harmonies shine, stories unfold, and music is made with passion and camaraderie.
Littlefair will be launching ‘Forever Is A Long Time’ on 18 May at Lyrics Underground, Maylands (WA).
