Frankenbok transcend the normal parameters of metal, boasting a diversity and sound that epitomises a band that is comfortable within their confines, unafraid to try anything and impulsively applying that to their craft. The music Frankenbok creates is one embracing heaviness, humour and brutality; something like nude wrestling in a maximum security wing!
Since their conception in 1997, Frankenbok have had a curse of revolving door musicians, with the only constant being founding member and guitarist Aaron “Azza Bok” Butler. Azza‘s style and musical vision is countered only by his tenacity and drive in forming the nucleus of what every musician strives to be, but few manage to accomplish.
2024 saw the return of their original vocalist Adam Glynn, and signing to new record label XMusic.
Drummer Tom Rossell and bassist Owen Spratling complete the current line up and the BOK plan for a furious return in 2025 kicking off dates in February with Alien Ant Farm, Drowning Pool, Dreadnaught and The Eternal.
The refurbished line up’s first instalment has been met with praise by peers and critics alike via the release of their single, Demon Tantrum.
Another stand alone follow up single, a cover of Dead Or Alive‘s You Spin Me Round (Like A Record), released at the very end of 2024 and will be followed by a new 5-track EP titled, ‘Irrepressible’ on January 31, 2025.
“So we did this as just a bit of fun and I have always loved the original Pete Burns version…. We DO have a album coming out real soon that’s not as fruity and plenty nasty… but this was great fun getting back to being the idiots we have always been and not being super serious… Life is serious enough and I’ve seen what becomes of grown ups! So try to laugh as much as possible you will live longer!” – Azza Bok
‘Irrepressible’ is a throwback to the original BOK, with vocalist Adam Glynn saying: “This new release so far is sounding like if GREETINGS and LOOPHOLES fuc
YES….the Frankenbok story has changed YET AGAIN, but it is still far from over. Like a Phoenix rising from the ashes! The BOK are back! What is old is now new again.
Keep watching this space, for the nature of Frankenbok is irrepressible.
‘Irrepressible’ WILL BE RELEASED ON JANUARY 31 – PRE-SAVE / PRE-ORDER HERE
