Lying Eyes is the newest release from Brisbane/Meanjin indie-pop artist Noah Bates.

“Over the last two years, I’ve been really inspired with my songwriting and production. Lying Eyes came from a batch of songs during that time, exploring 80s arena sounds influenced by INXS, Bruce Springsteen, The 1975 and ICEHOUSE. Lying Eyes is about the deceit that lingers in a broken relationship and how we don’t always try to fix the things we break”, Bates says.

In August 2023, Noah burst onto the music scene, releasing his debut single, Coffee In Japan, racking up an impressive 58,000 plays on Spotify and gained international traction. He followed up with his second single, Gotta Go, in 2024 and in 2025 launched his live band show to a sold out audience.

Noah finds his inspiration in the music of rock and pop icons such as Tears for Fears, The 1975, Sam Fender and The Strokes, using these influences to drive his own self-produced music forward.
