Perth/Boorloo alt-rock trio, Polly, have released their explosive new single, So What, cranking up the intensity following their 2024 debut. Best mates and bandmates Will (vocals, guitar), Rhyan (bass), and Andy (drums) are exploring new sonic territory while still delivering their signature blend of emotion and energy—a sound that will appeal to fans of artists like Alvvays, Slow Pulp, and Pinegrove.

For the recording of So What, the trio teamed up once again with Perth legend, Andrew Lawson at Debaser Studio, renowned for his work with artists like Noah Dillon, Death by Denim, Smol Fish, Fool Nelson, and Ra Ra Viper. The single was then mastered by Tassie’s finest, King Willy Sound.

Frontman Will describes the track as “An anthem for anyone who’s ever had to let go”. So What delves into the painful process of cutting someone out of your life, capturing the emotional weight that comes with it. Beyond the hurt, the song is about realising your own growth and moving forward, even when the other person assumed you’d always stick around”, Will says.

So What kicks off a massive 2025 for the band, which is shaping up to be Polly’s breakout year. 2024 saw them release their debut single, Spin, and support Perth heavyweights Little Guilt and Pretty Uglys, now Polly have announced they’ll be joining Fool Nelson on their national headline tour this March. With plenty more music in the pipeline and a growing presence on stage, Polly is showing no signs of slowing down.
