Off the back of a raucous East Coast tour where lucky fans scored an early, exclusive vinyl release of their debut album ‘Non-Violent’, QLD indie-punk force Haters today return with blistering new single, Dead Inside My Head.

Offering an unfiltered take on the pressures of modern life, unrealistic societal expectations, and the numbing effects of monotony, Dead Inside My Head channels Haters’ signature explosive sound with a high-energy punk spirit and raw, unflinching lyricism.

“This song is a rollercoaster of feelings and life that revolves around the idea of falling into the trap of moving into a life you don’t like,” explains vocalist Jai. “As a society, we’ve created a concept that to be perceived as mature we are required to give up on things that fulfil us – whether it be music, sport or even just hanging out with friends on a week night.”

Recorded and produced in Ontario, Canada, with Cancer Bats founding member Scott Middleton – who also produced the album – Dead Inside My Head is a visceral, cathartic punch to the gut. Capturing the chaos of daily existence, the track is driven by drummer Jimmy’s relentless rhythms and an impassioned vocal trade-off between Jai and bassist Kaito. With its gripping intensity, Haters’ latest release only heightens anticipation for the digital release of debut album ‘Non-Violent’ this March.

“A lot of people including friends end up going through the world on autopilot and somewhat braindead,” adds Jai. “‘Dead Inside My Head’ speaks of the pressure to be that person while also talking about the unusual things you do living with a mental illness like painting your bedroom or selling your things to get out of debt, then compulsively spending that money on new shit.”

Set to feature recent singles wander//wonder, Last Night and now Dead Inside My Head, ‘Non-Violent’ is the culmination of a month-long recording blitz that echoes the ruthless intensity of the album’s tracklist. An open book on struggles with mental health and the pursuit of inner peace, Haters’ debut album truly cements them as one of QLD’s most electric live acts.

‘Non Violent’ will be available everywhere on Friday March 21 via Four Four Music, with the album exclusively available on vinyl now.
