This yearโ€™s Scenic Rim Trail promises a long weekend like no other, blending live music, culture, nature, and community in one of Australiaโ€™s most breath-taking regions, and just over an hourโ€™s drive from Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

The 2025 edition of The Long Sunset will transform the Boonah Showgrounds into a weekend oasis of live music, artisan markets, workshops, food, wine and immersive experiences and camp sites. Just a short stroll from the heart of town, festivalgoers can wander to Boonahโ€™s local brewery for a meal, explore artisan stores, and even stay in eco-conscious, family-friendly local accommodations all within walking distance.

Daryl Raven, CEO of Queensland Music Trails, is excited to showcase Boonah this year. โ€œWeโ€™re thrilled to bring The Long Sunset to the heart of Boonah for the first time in 2025, a new chapter for one of Queenslandโ€™s most loved music events. This trail is about more than great music; itโ€™s about transforming towns through culture, connecting communities, and creating unforgettable experiences in some of our most beautiful regions in Queensland. We canโ€™t wait for audiences to explore everything the Scenic Rim and Boonah have to offer, from incredible local food and producers to breath-taking walks, family-friendly fun, and of course, world-class music under the stars.โ€

The event is designed to offer an easy-going choose-your-own-adventure experience, inviting festivalgoers to explore the townโ€™s warm hospitality and discover the very best of the Scenic Rim region. From VIP lounges and camping to curated foodie experiences and bushwalks through Cunninghamโ€™s Gap, this is more than a festival; itโ€™s an entire weekend escape.

The Long Sunset headliners Boy and Bear are thrilled to be part of the 2025 line-up, and might even have new musicย  ย to share. โ€œWeโ€™re thrilled to be joining The Long Sunset line-up. We have some amazing memories from playing previous shows on the Gold Coast and Queensland in general. We have been in the studio, so who knows, perhaps weโ€™ll even play a new song or two, but either way, weโ€™re excited to be heading to play music for our fans thereโ€,ย the band said.

Whether you’re up for sunrise yoga, wandering local nature trails, or simply soaking up the rich culture of a vibrant rural community, Boonah offers the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable weekend getaway.

Recognised by Lonely Planet as one of the Top Ten regions in the world to visit in 2022, the Scenic Rim offers an idyllic blend of rolling farmland, misty mountains, and world-class food and wine. The Scenic Rim Trail taps into this unique offering, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in a cultural journey across four diverse locations.

Minister for the Environment and Tourism Andrew Powell said The Scenic Rim Trailโ€™s move inland was a fantastic opportunity for the Boonah community to host the 2025 Long Sunset. โ€œThe Queensland Government supports the Queensland Music Trails to enable this innovative combination of nature and music to be brought to life. I encourage music lovers and those looking for a fun outdoor activity to head to The Scenic Rim Trailโ€™s signature event, The Long Sunset, this year, hosted in Boonah.โ€

Minister for Education and the Arts John-Paul Langbroek said the Scenic Rim Trail was one of the highlights of QMFโ€™s Queensland Music Trails. โ€œThe Scenic Rim Trail offers unique music and cultural experiences in one of Queenslandโ€™s most picturesque regions,โ€ Minister Langbroek said. โ€œThe Long Sunset brings many benefits to the town of Boonah and the wider Scenic Rim region โ€“ encouraging residents and visitors to engage with the local arts scene and generating employment opportunities for Queensland artists”.

Trail-goers will enjoy not only live music but yoga classes, interactive workshops, the beloved Artisan Alley, and a bounty of local produce. Itโ€™s a cultural escape, a nature retreat, and a music festival all in one.
