Brisbane metalcore band RVN//NT (pronounced Revenant) have released  their third single Distain, out today, alongside the track’s music video.

RVN//NT formed in 2023 with members Aden Blanch (bass), Connor Gutteridge (vocals), Damon Gutteridge (guitar) and Jake Brown (drums) with a collective love for punchy riffs, soaring vocals and a hard hitting back line. Their unique style fuses hard-hitting grooves with a crisp mixture of melodic and harsh vocals.

Distain is a hard hitting track about the struggles with mental health and addiction with the band taking influence from personal struggles.

Singer Connor Gutteridge said Distain is the band’s darkest track to date, diving into the deepest depths of depression. “Distain was written for people who these affiliations, and is a beacon of hope that, you are not alone and it can be better.”

Distain features hard hitting lyrics designed to make the listener feel the pain of the song.

You spoke the words of truth, Promises
Spun the Web, felt the lie
Said that everything’s okay
But one day to let it all back again”

Releasing their first song Void of Mind in March this year closely followed by Bleed Within, RVN//NT are on an upward trajectory with big plans. They currently have a string of releases planned for the year with an EP on the horizon.

RVN//NT are currently playing shows around South East Queensland and have their sights set on the rest of Australia. Their high energy stage presence and catchy riffs will make you want to throw down and sing along all at the same time while waiting for the insane breakdowns.
