Today, Brisbane based hip-hop artist Sachém releases breathe feat. Kobie Dee, the fourth offering from his debut album ‘easier said than done‘, set for release 17 October. This single follows on from previous releases second guessing feat. LaRussell, don’t wait around, and shakin and bakin’.
Frustration and Blak struggle are at the core of this track. Sachém vents about the industry, performative behaviour, and unhealthy cycles, knowing he can’t stay in negativity for too long. Kobie Dee’s presence adds depth, bringing his perspective as a father and artist navigating the same pressures. This track is an exhale, a necessary pause before the next move.
The forthcoming album ‘easier said than done’ explores the weight of generational trauma, the echoes of Sachém’s own father in himself, and the responsibility of passing strength down to his son.
Through bold storytelling and unfiltered emotion, Sachém confronts the past to build a better future, delivering an album that is as introspective as it is commanding. It acknowledges the resilience of his ancestors, honouring their stories while forging his own path.
This album sees Sachém making magic with countless creative collaborators including executive producer WYES and masterer GENE, along with features from LaRussell, Kobie Dee, Tasman Keith & Kaye with nods to the Australian indie-rock scene through Last Dinosaurs member Lachlan Caskey.
Raised between Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island) and Adelaide, Sachém draws from his Noonuccal roots and Black American heritage to create music that’s both grounded and global. His sound blends spoken word, hip-hop, and gospel, weaving in themes of faith, legacy, and resilience. A 2024 Queensland Music Award nominee and 2023 triple j Unearthed Artist of the Month, Sachém has performed at the likes of BIGSOUND, QPAC, and Jungle Love Festival.
