SLEEPAZOID Return With Moody End-Of-The-Night Anthem ‘3AM’

Fresh from four sold out shows supporting Faye Webster, Naarm-based alt rock five-piece Sleepazoid have today returned with their moody end-of-the-night slowburn, 3AM.

The new single arrives ahead of the band’s upcoming showcases at BIGSOUND this September, and will be launched with two intimate shows in Melbourne and Sydney next month. 3AM nods to the layered blend of alt-rock heard in Sleepazoid’s self-recorded debut EP running with the dogs (March 2025), while also venturing into dreamy, shoegaze-infused territory. It also sees the band lean away from abstract lyricism, opting instead for a more visual and direct story within the song.

“I liked the idea of painting a scene that would bring the listener right into the room,” says vocalist Nette France. “That familiar late-night party when you’re not really sure where the night will go – but you have hopes! Sonically, we’ve gotten much more comfortable writing together and I think you can hear that cohesion. George’s synthy harmonics on this track are a good example of how we’re embracing more interesting textures across the new EP – still embracing the three guitars but also allowing for space and dynamics.”

Produced and mixed by Jack Nigro at Sonora Studios, and mastered by Joe Carra, 3AM is the band’s first new offering since running with the dogs – an undeniably strong debut EP that left an impressive mark with its crunchy riffs and quirky lyrics. As a result, the band found themselves at the centre of a loyal and swiftly growing fanbase, leading them to sell out their hometown headline launch show at Bergy Bandroom.

Gritty fan-favourite focus single ALICE landed high rotation on triple j, as well as a music video premiere on triple j Unearthed and an abundance of praise across press and radio. Along with ALICE, punchy debut RWTD and follow up RATS clocked extensive editorial playlist support from Spotify including New Music Friday, All New Rock, Wire, Local Noise, Fresh Finds and more. Ahead of the EP release, the band also voiced the AFL’s ‘Get In On It’ national ad campaign.

With more new music and announcements to follow, Sleepazoid are set to keep the pace throughout the second half of the year.
