Brisbane alt-rock outfit Sunbleached unveil their highly anticipated debut album, ‘Stop Destroying The Things You Love’, out everywhere today via Community Music.
Produced by Fletcher Matthews (Trophy Eyes, Dear Seattle, Secret World), ‘Stop Destroying The Things You Love’ captures Sunbleached at their best, bringing together the band’s signature blend of alt-rock and emo across a personal, dark and sweeping debut.
The album’s first taste, Slow Burn, set the tone with its chugging guitars, intoxicating vocals and impassioned songwriting. The track quickly became the band’s biggest song to date, amassing hundreds of thousands of streams and introducing Sunbleached’s evolving sound to a rapidly growing audience.
Singles Pain Chamber and Maybe I’ll Come Around followed, offering further glimpses into the album’s depth and sound, and cementing Sunbleached as ones to watch in the alternative emo space. Across ‘Stop Destroying The Things You Love’, the band place themselves in league with their influences, drawing from the likes of Citizen, Title Fight and Silverchair, while still establishing a sound that feels distinctly their own.
Formed in 2020, Sunbleached have steadily made their mark on Australia’s alternative music landscape. Josh Baker (vocals), Bradley Maddaford (guitar/backing vocals), Kaden Perkinson (bass), Brent Ottley (guitar) and Izaac Calrow (drums) came together after years spent across previous musical projects, united by a desire to create an authentic alternative rock project drawing from the music that shaped them and reimagining it for the present.
That vision has seen Sunbleached join the Destroy All Lines roster, perform at BIGSOUND and New Bloom Festival, and share stages with Citizen, Movements, Holding Absence, Fleshwater, Touché Amoré, Boston Manor, Highly Suspect and more. Their music has also earned support from media across Australia and internationally, with the band continuing to build a reputation for a sound beyond their years.
