Following the success of their debut EP, ‘Breathe In… Breathe Out’ – which was added to rotation on KEXP and triple J Unearthed – plus a string of national headline dates, Kaurna/Adelaide indie-rock outfit Sunsick Daisy today unveil their heart wrenching new single, Over & Over.
Accompanied by a music video directed by Evie Wonder, Over & Over is an evocative blend of dreamy shoegaze that explores themes of loss and grief through its haunting instrumentation. Vocalist Sarah presents a raw vulnerability with every lyric, beckoning the listener to fully immerse themselves in the depths of her emotions.
“Over & Over is a journey through loss. The lyrics are pretty heartfelt & were written following the death of my childhood pet, but the message can be equally relatable to anyone dealing with grief and regret,” explains Sarah.
Recorded with producer Jarred Nettle (Teenage Joans, TOWNS), Over & Over is aching in its delivery, setting the stage for an enchanting new era for Sunsick Daisy. The band’s synergy is palpable, crafting an atmospheric soundscape, guided by soaring, reverb-drenched guitars and a rhythm section that’s like a visceral punch to the gut.
Having spent the first half of the year playing around the country with Death By Denim, Suzi & Dear Sunday as well as packing out their own headline shows, Sunsick Daisy have been working overtime on their new batch of music, priming them for a truly exciting 2024.
