Since arriving in full force with their first release Hoping The Middle in late June – Meanjin-based punk/rock/emo outfit Talk Heavy are back with their follow-up single I Wanna Skate Again.

Much like their debut release, this new track is fast-paced and frantic. But where Hoping The Middle was angst-ridden and existential; I Wanna Skate Again is all about fun times and attempting to embrace life to the fullest.

Leaning further into their high-energy international influences (the likes of Jeff Rosenstock, PUP, WAVVES and The Cribs), the end result is a blistering 1 minutes and 49 seconds of unadulterated joy.

“Our second single I Wanna Skate Again is about trying to adjust your outlook on life and wanting to apply the carelessness of adolescence into your adulthood. It’s about feeling too complacent in life, so you want to take risks again and reignite some old passions you once had. For me, the perfect balance of creativity, attitude and reckless abandon was always skateboarding – it’s a constant balance of risk and reward, whilst also being a creative outlet.”
Matt Cochran (Vocalist / Guitarist)
