Australian indie-pop group Teenage Dads today share their latest EP ‘My Memento’ out now via Chugg Music.
An extension of their 2024 sophomore album ‘Majordomo’, ‘My Memento’ is infectious and creatively bold. Known for their ability to fuse a multitude of soundscapes that range from punchy alt-rock anthems to indie-pop, the EP marks the next step of Teenage Dads’ refined sonic evolution.
“‘My Memento’ was born out of a song we always believed in as well as the desire of giving back to our fans,” Teenage Dads share. “While 3/4 songs were ‘hidden’ on ‘MAJORDOMO’ they all come from the same time and carry great memories. So, to us the EP feels like a souvenir of our album. We intended to keep the songs hidden on the vinyl but that changed when we saw our fans enjoying them, so much that people had made digital rips and self-appointed songs titles, 2 of which we’ve used for the official release.”
Inviting listeners into their fully-formed world, ‘My Memento’ is pure creative expression best reflected in focus track Fire Fire. Following lead single Stay Between Us, the band continues to weave contemporary indie, pop, and rock references across Tidal Waves and Little Bird.
Finding another gear on their songwriting, ‘My Memento’ follows Teenage Dads’ 2024 album ‘Majordomo’, a record which landed triple j Feature Album, debuted at #1 in the ARIA Aus Album Charts, #2 in the ARIA Album Charts and #6 in the Vinyl Charts, collected radio support across the board at iHeartRadio, fbi radio, 2SER, 4ZZZ and SYN FM alongside widespread acclaim from Rolling Stone, 10 Magazine, Billboard, NME, Frankie Magazine and more, with To Be Magazine praising their “sonic library that is at once unique, sentimental and quotidian”.
Landing the 2023 ARIA Breakthrough Artist, Teenage Dads have continued to garner audiences through extensive touring across Australia, the UK, EU, North America and Canada. With festival appearances at SXSW Sydney, Laneway Festival, The Great Escape (UK), Splendour in the Grass, Yours & Owls to sharing stages with Dayglow, Spacey Jane, Lime Cordiale, The Brook & The Bluff and more, their ability to translate live recordings into a live setting shows no sign of slowing down.
This September, Teenage Dads will perform across the UK and EU to celebrate the release of ‘My Memento’ and ‘Majordomo’, and have also announced that they will be joining cult indie-rock pillars Franz Ferdinand on their upcoming Australian tour this November.
