WORM GIRLZ Return With New Single ‘Kills Me Like You Do’

Off the back of a huge 2025 which saw them release their ARIA-charting, self-titled debut album to critical acclaim, embark on multiple national tours and light up stages at SXSW Sydney and more, Meanjin alt-rock quintet Worm Girlz now return with new single Kills Me Like You Do. Arriving during Pride Month, the track continues the band’s commitment to creating music that celebrates queer joy and self-expression.

Driven by yearning, intimacy and the excitement of a new love, Kills Me Like You Do captures the euphoric rush of unrestrained, dramatic love. Steered by the confident rhythm section of bassist Angie and drummer Niko, the track sees guitarist Bella deliver some of her most infectious and searing work to date, while vocalists Jade and Lauren soar above the chaos with harmonies that encapsulate every aching emotion.

On the track, Lauren shares: “I love the melodrama of a new connection. Savouring every moment, drawing out every second. All of your senses feel heightened as you fawn over a new obsession.”

Since emerging in 2023 with debut single Dirt, Worm Girlz have become one of the country’s most beloved bands. Their fearless lyricism and larger-than-life live shows has seen them build a devoted audience while touring with Crywank (UK), WAAX and Cry Club and performing at BIGSOUND, Laneway Festival and more. With Kills Me Like You Do, the worm universe expands once again – inviting fans into a colourful chapter filled with the beautiful messiness that comes with opening your heart to someone completely.

Never happy to slow down, Worm Girlz are set for another huge few months on the road – returning to Adelaide on June 27 for Queer Club at UniBar before stripping things back for a pair of intimate acoustic headline performances in Brisbane and Melbourne in July. They’ll then join The Pretty Littles at The Brightside in Brisbane on July 31 before sharing the stage with Montaigne at Crowbar Brisbane on August 21.
