Rising Sydney emo pop-punk quartet A Swift Farewell have just released their highly anticipated second single The Haunting Feat. Amariah Cook of Future Static ahead of their debut EP ‘Hollow Threats’ – due June 6.

The Haunting is produced by Nat Sherwood (Besties, Yours Truly) with additional engineering from Chris Blancato (Northlane, Reliqa), additional vocal production by Christopher Vernon (Bloom, Future Static) and mastered by Grant Berry at Fader Mastering (Stand Atlantic, Static Dress).

A Swift Farewell delivers their heaviest single yet. The song opens with eerie children’s laughter, setting an unsettling tone right from the start. Sarah Bonnet’s powerful guitar conducts an explosive intro, leading into Gab Michael’s gnarly bass tone in the verse, establishing the song’s heavy and dark atmosphere. The chorus takes the band into new territory, featuring Ryo Andi’s falsetto vocals and an intricate, fast-paced drum pattern by Dwayne Morris. Then comes the highly anticipated feature: Amariah Cook from Future Static joins for an emotional verse about being too broken to love, before guiding us into a powerful circle pit with the band’s heaviest breakdown to date. If you make it through, you’ll be treated to a final chorus with beautiful harmonies, both emotional and energetic.

The Haunting is about the anxiety that comes with starting a new relationship, when you feel like you are too damaged to be with anyone. Your past traumas are like ghosts hidden inside of you, waiting for anyone to get close to you so they can hurt them. This song encapsulates the feeling that the past has broken you, turned you into a haunted house that everyone should probably run away before they see who you really are, before you inevitably mess everything up.

Ryo Andi talks about his experience working with Amariah: “Working with Amariah has been an incredible experience. Every time I hear her voice, I’m in awe of her talent. She is such a gifted vocalist, and having her on this project has truly taken the song to the next level.”

Alongside the release is the energetic accompanying video – shot at Valhalla by Viking Lounge, filmed by Niko Bon Frere, directed and edited by Ryo Andi with additional footage and SFX by John Stokes from Shotpro. The clip features the band performing the track in light and dark settings, inspired by the horror genre.

“This shoot has been an absolute blast to direct and edit. The idea revolves around switching between day and night, drawing inspiration from the horror genre. During the daytime, the room is “brighter” to highlight life and energy, while at night, the furniture is draped with bedclothes to create a haunted, abandoned house atmosphere.”Ryo Andi

To celebrate the release, A Swift Farewell will hit the road for an East Coast tour throughout April and May. The band will support Brisbane pop-punk act Bad Neighbour for a series of dates in Sydney and Brisbane, in partnership with AM//PM. In mid-May, they will support Melbourne-based alternative hyper-pop trio Nightlight at the Bergy Bandroom for their EP release show.

Having already made waves within the local scene, A Swift Farewell is no stranger to sharing the stage with some of the biggest names in the industry, including As December Falls (UK), Lil Lotus (USA), Yours Truly, Hands Like Houses, Bloom, The Beautiful Monument, Alt, Future Static, and many more. Their captivating live performances are known for their high-energy and infectious intensity that consistently leave fans buzzing after every show.

The band’s previous releases have garnered widespread support from key platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, triple j, triple j Unearthed, and Australian community radio. They’ve also gained significant online recognition, with features from Alternative Press (USA), Blunt Magazine, Hysteria Magazine, Music Feeds, Wall of Sound, Backseat Mafia (UK), and Something You Said.
