“How big is this one!! nice one Andy, I can see fans of Fergus James getting swept up in this too.”Declan Byrne, triple j

“Scotch Fingers and a cup of tea ALSO make me very happy. Super catchy new song Andy.”Zan Rowe, triple j

“Really nice vibes on this! I dunno, I’m getting an almost old school 80s awakening song with a lovely raspy pop rock vocal.”
Pip Rasmussen, triple j

“Powerful. Heart-felt. Punchy. Andy Martin is a fairly fresh face on the scene, but he won’t be forgotten anytime soon. The Brissie based indie rocker has been releasing singles over the year that has been building to the release of his debut EP. A cohesive record that navigates love, life and everything in between; an impactful record that sings of lows yet leaves us on a high.”

Andy Martin has always been a daydreamer. The Queensland singer-songwriter has garnered a reputation for creations that channel this and encourages listeners to do the same. His new single Reverie is no different, taking a meander through his mind; intertwining both fictional tales and reality to forge a breakup song of devotion and longing. Reverie touches on Martin’s own personal feelings, but also dives into his brain, putting himself in the shoes of another and watching the situation from the outside, looking in. Channelling the evanescence of Spacey Jane, the pulse of The Wombats and the genuine candour of Tyne-James Organ, Reverie is an unparalleled indie-pop creation, enticing audiences into Andy Martin’s world.

Working closely with Brisbane-based producer Aidan Hogg (Holy Holy, G Flip, Jaguar Jonze) to meld the final version of Reverie, the two knuckled down in iconic The Plutonium in the leafy Kelvin Grove.

With a rich pedigree of Brisbane and Australian artists (Tame Impala, Eves Karydas, The John Steel Singers) having created their finest work in the live room, Martin was inspired to take the track from a bedroom demo, to the polished, finessed final heard today. Aidan Hogg mixed the track, with another Brisbane stalwart Brock Weston (BUGS, Eliza & The Delusionals, Beddy Rays) mastering it.

“Reverie is a dreamy indie pop / rock track. It is a fabricated love / break-up song. Reverie is defined as a state of being pleasantly lost in one’s thoughts; a daydream. I believe this was a fitting single to lead into the album release, as well as an aptly named title. Reverie may touch on personal feelings, but it is really me telling a story from another perspective. This is the track I also centred the album around as I believe it sparked a new direction for the project.” Andy Martin

“Reverie; a daydream; is where my brain was at when writing most of this album. Aidan Hogg and I brought this to life and I am so so proud of this one. I think this is going to be an album favourite!” – Andy Martin

Coinciding with the single release, Andy Martin is today also ecstatic to announce the actualisation of a lifelong goal; his debut album, aptly titled ‘Reverie’. Traversing his mind and thoughts across the previous three years, ‘Reverie’ the album is a body of work that acts to showcase chapters of Martin’s life as they have come to pass. Covering stories of love, breakups, struggles with mental health and even on occasion, conversations with friends, the Queensland troubadour has penned a record with front-to-back honesty and sublime melodies. Releasing Friday August 12thAndy Martin has been counting down the days to tick this achievement off of his “bucket list”.

This album goes into my deepest and darkest thoughts over the last 3 years. There’s love songs, breakup songs, songs about struggling with mental health, songs about stories from conversations with friends and songs that I’ve just fabricated in my mind. That’s why I decided to call the album, “Reverie”. Music is my outlet and way to express my feelings. I’m so proud of this body of work. It features a number of already released singles, as well as some fun new ones.” – Andy Martin

Having long-awaited the release of his debut album, Andy Martin has signed with national booking agency Radia Artists, with guidance from the tenacious Vienna Bradley (Teenage Dads, Screamfeeder, Sputnik Sweetheart) helping Martin to announce a run of 12 Australian dates to celebrate ‘Reverie’. Starting in Brisbane/Meanjin on Friday August 19th, the tour will make its way down the east coast of Australia, before culminating in Melbourne/Naarm at Bodriggy Brewing Co. on Sunday September 18th.

“This is our biggest headline tour to date and features a number of venues / cities we’ve never played. I’ve been sitting on this album for a little while now and I am itching to play it for everyone! Patrons can expect our own fun, unique brand of indie pop / rock. The set is fun, playful and energetic. This is a big celebration for all of the hard work that has gone into the album!!” Andy Martin

With ‘Reverie’ setting the tone for the concurrent album, Andy Martin is a flame that will burn brightly throughout the remainder of 2022. Songs of love, heartbreak, struggles and triumph are sure to pull at the heartstrings of audiences throughout Australia, landing Martin as a likely candidate for “one-to-watch” this year.
