Bobby Alu’s latest single, Ready For Your Love, is OUT NOW; the reggae and soul-infused track unites Alu‘s joyous harmonies with feel-good rhythm and stripped-back production.

Ready For Your Love embodies the reggae style ‘lovers rock’ popular in Jamaica in the late 70’s by artists like Dennis Brown, Gregory Isaacs, Horace Andy, Alton Ellis, and John Holt. The track is a grand declaration of effortless love, proclaiming: “You turned up, caused a rush / now you are giving me more than enough.”

“Imagine you’re a bird doing everything you can to impress your queen – build a beautiful nest, pump out your chest, sing your heart out,” said Alu.

“The band and I love reggae from the 70’s and 80’s. This song was never planned. We were at the studio working on some other tracks. After dinner we weren’t quite ready to finish. I showed them a chorus idea and we all jumped in bouncing ideas off one another.

“I had recently had a conversation with a stranger about how they were looking for love desperately and this exchange inspired the lyrics. Hours went by and we left that night with a new track in the bag. Spontaneous creative moments like this are some of my absolute favourite times in the studio. Time goes and you find your flow.

Bobby has just announced a Breakfast Shirts regional cafe tour where he’ll be slinging songs and eating his way through regional Australia with all star cafe reviewing internet personality Breakfast Shirts.

He’s hightailing it around Australia through January and February, playing shows with special guests, supporting Ash Grunwald throughout Victoria, and playing regional Queensland dates with his Mum, Foloi Iulia.

Bobby had a 2023 of epic proportions, touring relentlessly across the world, including industry showcases at Folk Alliance in the US and Reeperbahn in Germany. The ‘Sunsets (With You)’ tour saw Bobby perform 12 dates around the US followed by 13 dates across Europe.
